13 Myanmar junta’s forces killed within four days in KNU’s controlled territory

A source from the Karen National Union (KNU) has confirmed the killing of at least 13  Myanmar junta’s forces between 4 and 7 November in KNU/KNLA’s controlled areas.

Fighting continues on a daily basis in controlled areas of the KNU/KNLA Brigade 5 due to the constant military activities, according to KNU.

On 4 and 5 November, there were five clashes in Butho Township and six others in Dwe Lo Township of Brigade 5 controlled areas.

A total of 11 clashes occurred in two days. Within the two-day clashes, KNU/KNLA reportedly killed at least eight members of the Myanmar junta’s forces and wounded 17 others, according to the sources.

On November 6, there were two clashes in Butho Township and one in Lutha Township of KNU/KNLA’s areas. On November 7, there was another clash.

There were four clashes in two days, killing five members of the junta’s forces.

“13 junta’s forces have been killed in four days,” the source added.

The recent clashes have been triggered by the constant offensive operations and activities of the Myanmar junta’s forces in the KNU/KNLA’s controlled areas. No casualty from KNU/KNLA’s has been reported.
