145 junta soldiers were killed in the ten-day war in a blow to the junta army’s attempt to control northwest Myanmar

Yangon (Chindwin): Local resistance forces have inflicted the junta army massive casualties during a ten-day war in northern Sagaing region between the junta army and local alliance resistance forces as more than 145 junta troops were reportedly killed and dozens wounded, Katha – People Defense Force released a statement on Wednesday.

The fighting started on 11 June in the area of Inngyi, where more than 30 junta troops were killed, with another 40 junta troops killed on 17 in a clash near Katha station gate and Chauhmyathna in Katha region – northern Sagaing region.

On 18 June, at least 60 junta soldiers were killed in an intense battle at Alaykyun village.

On 21 June, at least 15 junta troops were obliterated in which local resistance force used drones over the junta army column with 121 personnel.

Several local resistance forces, including Katha – PDF, Battalion 3 of Katha – PDF, ABSDF (All Burma Student Democratic Front), other allied forces in the region – all of them joined together in inflicting significant damage against the Tatmadaw.

People Defense Force – Katha says the security remains extremely alarming as the junta army steps up sending reinforcements and conduct operations in the area with 600 junta troops.

Katha – PDF also requests cooperation in the fight against the junta troops in the region.
