A CDMer Deputy Township Administer at Myanmar’s Ministry of Labour is arrested

20 October 2022

Mr Man Phe, a Deputy Administer at Ministry of Labour from Kalaymyo District, who joined Civil Disobedience Movement, was arrested on Monday at about 1:00 pm in Kalaywa township of Sagaing region in northwest Myanmar.

Mr Man Phe joined CDM since last year and has been on the hunt by the junta regime for months.

He was arrested at the security gate of Aungchianthar village near Kalaywa when he was travelling to Kalaymyo.

The victim decided to side with the people and joined Civil Disobedience Movement from where he served the Ministry of Labour as Deputy Township Administer in Kalaymyo district of Sagaing region.

The arrest of Mr Man Phe shows the junta regime’s cruel crackdown on those who joined Civil Disobedience Movement, defying the military junta’s rule following the illegal military coup in February 2021.
