The military junta says Htet Htet Khine – a freelance producer for BBC Burmese, was today handed a 3-year sentence with hard labouring at the military court in Insein prison in Yangon, Myanmar.
Htet Htet Khine was arrested on 15 August 2021 and was charged under Section 17 (1) of the colonial era – Unlawful Association Acts for allegedly working for BBC Burmese and other banned radio station.
After more than 12 months in one of the most notorious prions in the country, the journalist was sentenced to three-year jail term with hard labouring.
