Yaw Defense Force (YDF) has disclosed self-made defense weapons since taking arms to resist the Myanmar military coup.
YDF is one of the local resistant groups that was formed after the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters by the Myanmar military regime early this year.
“We began this revolution to overthrow the military dictatorship once and for all. In doing so, we need weapons. But we cannot effort to buy ready-made machine guns as they are too expensive,” according to YDF’s statement on its official Facebook page.
“We were able to produce small, mid-range, and heavy weapons as well as homemade guns, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and others. And we have come this far only with the constant support of the people,” the statement added.
In the statement, YDF has also vowed to continue this revolution until the end. More weapons have not been disclosed , the statement marks at the end.
YDF has inflicted heavy casualties against the Myanmar junta forces in multiple clashes over the past months.
