A series of bomb blasts rock Yangon

Yangon (Chindwin): A series of bomb blasts rocked 12 notorious township metro offices in Rangoon at 12:00 pm today, injuring some policemen.

The affected buildings are said to be electricity offices across 12 townships in Yangon.

The Urban Guerilla Group (UGG) claims responsibility for a series of explosions, saying that electrical offices’ authorities threatened civilians to cut off their electricity if the bill is not paid and to remove electrical meter boxes for those who cannot pay the bills.

They bring the police and soldiers to threaten families and force them to pay for the electricity bills.

The offices affected by the bomb blasts are Thingangyun Township Electricity Office, Yankin Electricity Office, Ahlone Electricity Office, Insein Electricity Office, and North Dagon Electricity Office.

Explosions take place in several townships, including the South Dagon Electricity Office in South Dagon Township.

The military council has made critical efforts to enforce the meter reading and ensure that the electricity bill is properly paid.

It is learned that the financial flow for the military council from energy sectors, mainly, electricity has been hit hard by the social movement known as do-not-pay your bill.
