ARSA claims the killing of 10 Myanmar junta soldiers in recent clashes

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) released a statement about clashes with the Myanmar junta’s forces on 15 November and claimed the killing of 10 soldiers and the death of one of their members.

ARSA has reportedly clashed three times in a week with the Myanmar junta soldiers, on the 7th, 9th, and 11th of November 2021.

The clash on 7 November resulted in the death of 4 junta soldiers and the loss of one of their members.

“On 7 November, ARSA freedom fighters were caught in an ambush laid by BGM (referring to Burmese Genocidal Military) terrorists near Hlaing Tai village during patrolling of the area. ARSA responded immediately with the reinforcements, which has resulted in the death of 4 (BGM) terrorists. Sorrowfully, an ARSA freedom fighter entered martyrdom and injured another fighter. ARSA also seize an under-barrel grenade launcher, some ammunition, and weapons,” the statement said.

ARSA has also confirmed that they killed 6 Myanmar junta’s soldiers in 90 minutes clash on 11 November.

“Although 6 bodies of BGM terrorists are counted, ARSA cannot confirm the number of injuries of BGM terrorists,” the statement continued.

ARSA is a Rohingya insurgent group active in northern Rakhine State, Myanmar. Myanmar’s Anti-Terrorism Central Committee declared ARSA a terrorist group on 25 August 2017.
