Yangon (Chindwin): At least 10 Myanmar junta’s troops were reportedly killed in a clash with Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) in Demoso Township, Kayah State.
Fighting broke out between the Myanmar junta’s troops and a combined forces of Karenni Army (KA) and KNDF near Thwele Bala and Ngwe Taung Ywa Thit villages in Demoso township at around 4 pm yesterday, on 26 October.
The fighting has resulted in the death of at least 10 junta’s troops and the destruction of two military vehicles, according to KNDF’s statement released following the clash.
“The fighting which lasted nearly two and a half hours left at least 10 junta’s dead and destroyed two military vehicles,” said the statement. “There is no casualty or injury of our troops.”
The junta’s troops were also reported shelling heavy artillery and mortars indiscriminately into residential areas.
Also, the statement reported of spotting military fighter jets flying over Demoso following the fighting.
The Myanmar junta’s forces suffer heavy losses in recent clashes with resistance fighters in Kayah State and across Myanmar.
