Junta forces burn down over 20 houses in Loikaw township as anti-military regime resistance intensifies in Kayah State

Myanmar junta forces have reportedly burned down more than 20 houses in Naung Lon and Kun Nar villages in Loikaw township earlier today, December 20.

Piles of smoke are seen as the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) released photos of burning houses in Naung Lon and Kun Nar villages.

“The terrorist military council soldiers fired heavy artilleries and shells targeting Naung Lon and Kun Nar villages at around 6 pm. Fighting could at any time as the military continue offensive operations in the areas,” KNDF reported via its Facebook Page.

Two days ago, on December 18, the junta forces carried out attacks and burned down several houses in four villages, including Naung Lon, Kun Nar, and other villages along the border of Shan and Kayah States.

Multiple clashes between the Myanmar junta forces and combined forces of Karenni Army (KA) and KNDA occurred in Loikaw, and Demoso townships within this week, as the anti- military’s coup resistances have intensified across the country.
