Kachin Independence Army has captured three military outposts in Kachin State

Laiza, Kachin (Chindwin): Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Headquarter has confirmed to Chindwin media that KIA has reportedly captured three military outposts this morning after the hours-long battle since last night.

KIA has launched an offensive against the three military outposts at the same time at around 4:30 pm [Myanmar Times] since yesterday and could capture the three outposts by this morning around 4:00 am [Myanmar Time].

The military outposts are based in Nam Jan, Seng Ra and Aung Len villages in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, and the KIA forces under brigade 9 are known to have reportedly launched the offensive.

Hpakant Township is one of the areas affected by the telecommunication shutdown by the military regime along with other 25 townships across the country.

KIA are counting on the casualty from the military council and the person with direct contact of KIA on the condition of anonymity says that the KIA has seized several weapons of the military council, adding that the military junta sent attack helicopters in the areas and dropped several bombs in the outposts.

Casualty on both sides is not yet known.

Our source in Laiza, Kachin State is reporting on this matter.
