At least seven Myanmar junta soldiers died in mine attacks carried out by alliance forces, including Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and People’s Defense Force (PDF) this morning (Myanmar Time), on November 29.
Two vehicles carrying soldiers from Mohnyin to Myitkyina were attacked by KIA and PDF using mines between Shan Nyaung Gone and Let Pan Tha village at around 6:00 am this morning, killing at least 7 junta soldiers, including a commander, according to a KIA source in the area.
Shortly after the attacks, the Myanmar junta forces carried out random shelling and firing along the road to Nanma town. They have reportedly damaged three houses and killed some local livestock.
Since the February coup, the KIA has frequently clashed with the Myanmar military forces in Mohyin areas and has inflicted heavy casualties on the military forces.
