Yangon (Chindwin): The junta’s Internal Revenue Department has sent secret instructions to all departmental Directors, Regional Directors and Administrators to cautiously implement security for the departmental documents and prevent them from leaking, on 31 May 2022.
The Internal Revenue Department (IRD) functions and operates under the Ministry of Planning and Finance (MOPF).
This secret cable is sent to all IDR offices across the country on 31 May 2022.

The secret instruction cited the Internal Revenue Department’s previous orders dated (02/8/2021, 5/4/2022, 14/1/2021, 5/2/2021, 18/8/2021 and 6/4/2022).
The MOPF’s instructions order staff members be prohibited from copying, faxing, sending the documents via social media’s messenger, Viber and sending the copy to other people without their superior’s permission. Actions must be taken in line with the national Secret Acts.
The leaked cable document also says NUG, CRPH and other groups are targeting emails of companies and businessmen and women.
On point 3, the instruction commands all information about any staff members of the Internal Revenue Department must be kept confidential. Other information relating to the Department itself, its crimes, and legal issues can be allowed for revelation to some extent if permission is received. However, all other important information must be kept secret at all times.
All staff members work under the existing law of Article (8) of Tax Administration Law to protect all documents from leaking.
In the end, the instructions conclude by ordering all departmental offices across Myanmar to assess the staff’s behaviours and report their findings back to the headquarter in Nay Pyi Taw by 10 June 2022.
