Myanmar military junta destroyed roads in the Sagaing region in a bid to cut off supply access for people in the region where local People Defense Forces are dominating control.
The photos supplied to Chindwin show that the road connecting Monywa to Layzin village was dug and bulldozed on Wednesday by the junta army yesterday, effectively preventing all trucks and cars travelling to Layzin village and its surrounding villages in the area from Monywa.
The junta army told villagers yesterday that PDF planted mines, and they just dug the road to locate the landmine, but there was nothing found. Later, villagers were told that the road was purposefully destroyed to cut off all supplies and transportation.
The road in Monywa that connects to Sinpyusin bridge was dug and destroyed yesterday along with the water pipeline that supplies water to the outskirt areas of Monywa town.
All residents in these areas were not consulted nor told about the reason why the junta army came and destroyed the road.
