Myanmar’s junta beefs up security around shopping malls in Yangon

Yangon – Myanmar’s junta forces are seen checking shopper’s mobile phone at the Ga Mone Pwint shopping mall at around 12:00 pm [Myanmar Time] in Yangon Township, Yangon region.

Security around the shopping malls in Yangon region has been beefed up following the widespread boycott campaign for Myanmar Plaza due to the two peaceful protesters being beaten up by the security guards.

The boycott campaign is said to have a heavy toll on the shopping mall operator as many shops have decided to leave the mall, according to the latest update on Myanmar Plaza’s chaos.

Today the security check at Ga Mone Pwint shopping mall results in the arrest of two young men who were seen taken away into the military truck.
