NLD’s offices bombed and collapsed in Taningtharyi region

Yangon (Chindwin): The entire building used by National League for Democracy (NLD) as an office in Dawei district, Taninthayi Region, has been reportedly collapsed in a bombardment.

The NLD’s office in Dawei district in Karatchi was bombed at around 2 am on October 21, according to a resident living near the area.

“I woke up at around 2:22 am in the morning as I heard a loud explosion. Then I saw six soldiers with guns in their hands walking back and forth around the NLD’s office,” he added.

The locals claimed that the Myanmar military junta allegedly set up the bombing as the explosion occurred in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep, and the troops were seen around the place where the incident took place.

According to the local residents who talked to Mizzima, it was learnt that the police officers in uniform and spies have been circling around the NLD’s office in the past three days.

“They have been waiting in a hidden place for this explosive firing near the house of the spies’ leader Aung Sein and the NLD’s office since the evening,” said a resident. Besides the collapse of the NLD’s building, some houses nearby were partially destroyed by the blast.

This is the second time in a row targeted the offices of NLD in Taningtharyi region as the NLD office in Myeik town was bomb-attacked yesterday a

In Daweri, around 8 am today, CCTV cameras were taken away by the military junta forces near the building, said the locals. “This is how they are trying to eliminate the evidence,” commented a resident of the area on removing cameras.

The NLD’s office in Myeik city, on the outskirt of Myeik district, was also bombed and destroyed on 20 October.
