Yangon (Chindwin): Fighting between the Myanmar junta’s troops and newly formed resistance fighters, People Defense Forces (PDFs) reportedly broke out yesterday at around 4:30 pm on the Mu River Bridge in Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region.
“There was a four-hour clash between the Myanmar junta’s troops and local PDFs on the Mu River Bridge. PDFs had inflicted heavy casualties on junta’s troops, including a Captain, and seizures of serval weapons and military equipment,” a source close to the incident told The 74 Media.
Following the Myanmar military’s brutalities against peaceful demonstrators across Myanmar earlies this year, residents in the Sagaing regions opted an armed resistance against the Myanmar junta. Multiple clashes between PDF-Sagaing and the Myanmar junta’s troops had reportedly taken place in recent days.
“The Myanmar junta’s troops were ambushed by combined PDF fighters (Pyinle-Bu PDF, Collin-PDF, and Wonthu-PDF) at the Mu River Bridge as they came from Naungmu village to Wanbae-In village,” The 74 Media added.
Located within Katha District, Pinlebu is the administrative headquarters of Collin areas, Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region.
