Myanmar military has significantly increased the reinforcements of troops and supplies in three regions, including Chin State, Sagaing, and Magway.
The reinforcements came amid the military council cut off internet and other communication lines in those regions.
“Military helicopters have landed multiple times in Hakha this week. I believe they are delivering troops and supplies using helicopters, as major ground supplied routes are cut-off by Chin Defense Forces (CDFs) and People Defense Forces (PDFs),” a resident in Hakha told The Chindwin.
The military council has previously threatened to conduct two-week long operations against CDFs in Chin State.
“We are aware of the recent military reinforcement of troops and supplies in Chin State as we are closely monitoring their activities,” Hakha-CDF spokesperson said. “We have also alarmed other CDFs across Chin State,” he added.
The junta’s troops suffered significant casualties in recent clashes with local CDFs and PDFs in these three regions. The military council retaliated by killing civilians and burning down homes.
