The military junta’s reckless attempt of seizing opponents’ properties as state asset reaches at the Thai – Myanmar border

Yangon (Chindwin): From the corner at the Myanmar – Thai border amid the rising conflict in the region, the jewellery shop and house, which reportedly belong to the parents of Myanmar Parliamentary Member from National League for Democracy (NLD), Mr Thanh Zin Aung, is reported to have been sealed off as state asset by the military junta on 04 April 2022.

The lawmaker said on his social media that the junta had seized his parents’ house and jewellery shop, and many of the valuable jewellery had been taken.

As usual, the junta security force went to the jewellery shop of the parents of Mr Thanh Zin Aung and sealed off the house with a banner stating that the house is confiscated under Section 50 (a) and 52 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Law.

The Myanmar lawmaker from the NLD party lives in No. 4 Block in Myawaddy Town in Karen State.

As of 05 April, the military junta has seized 155 houses as state asset under Section 50 (a) and 52 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Law, of which 93 are lawmakers from the National League for Democracy.
