The world’s new wealthiest man

Melbourne (Chindwin) : Elon Musk, born in South Africa and founded Paypal, becomes the new wealthiest man on earth toppling all elite billionaire list, becoming the first person to hit $USD 300 billion in wealth. 

Musk became a multimillionaire in his late 20s when he sold his start-up company Zip2 to a division of Compaq computers and founded X.com in 1999, which became PayPal later. 

The tech mogul founded SpaceX in 2002 after his PayPal was acquired by eBay for $US 1.5 billion in stock. 

Established Tesla Motors in 2003, Musk has been one of the leading pioneer engineers in manufacturing electric cars after successfully launching the first electric car model – Roadster in March 2008. 

The South African entrepreneur is best known for Tesla motors – producing electric cars as well as battery products and solar roofs. He has been the talk of Twitter’s world when it comes to stock and shares trading, especially, most popular to the bitcoin trading saga. 

Musk’s fortune is now bigger than the entire GDP of his home country – South Africa as his wealth is now $US 335, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. 

His net worth soared by a total $US165 billion only in this year, and the boost of his wealth is driven by a significant rise in Tesla’s shares. 

Musk was netted an additional $US36 billion in a single day last week after the Tesla’s stock had a 13% leap, which is the largest single-day surge in the history ever recorded by Bloomberg. 

Last week, Musk tweeted he would sell his shares in Tesla Motors and spend $US 6 billion to alleviate world hunger if the United Nations’ World Food Programme could prove that the money could solve the world hunger crisis.
