Three family members killed as the junta army’s artillery landed on their house in Rakhine

Three family members were killed while sleeping in Kyaukdaw town as the junta army's artillery landed on the victims' house at about 11:00 pm last night.

(Chindwin):The Light Infantry Battalion – (LIB -09) of the junta army from Kyaukdaw town had shelled at least 10 rounds of the 120 mm artillery and landed in Pihsi village, killing three family members on the scene last night in the north of Rakhine state, Myanmar.

The junta army started shelling at around 11:00 pm from Kyaukdaw town and landed on the Pihsi village.

The house of Soe Win, 45, Tan Tan Wai, 44, and their daughter Phyu Phyu, 14, who was a student in sixth grade, was hit, and all of the family members were killed while sleeping, the local media outlet – Narinjara reported.

Four cows of the family’s were also killed as the result of the artillery landing in the compound of the victims’ house.

The son of Mr Soe Win and Mrs Tan Tan Wai lives in Malaysia.
