Kachin State’s Environmental and Resources Concern Group (ERCG) is calling on the relevant authority in the northern state of Myanmar to investigate the cruel killing of Nay Chi, who had for years worked in Kachin civil society.

Mrs Nay Chi was killed as she was allegedly accused of being a military informant (Dalaan) although she was said to have worked and connected with many grassroots organizations in Kachin state.

The ERCG called all relevant authorities to investigate the brutal killing of Nay Chi and provided evidence of whether Nay Chi acted as a military informant.

So far, despite the lack of evidences to prove the allegation of being military informants, several people have been killed by local resistance across the country following the country’s dive into a widespread civil war, Chindwin has learned.
