Myanmar’s military council limits male passenger on motorbike: tighten grip

Yangon – Myanmar’s military council has issued a decree limiting the male passenger on motorbike – not allowing any motorbike drivers to carry male passenger in behind for the next 61 days.

This decree has been first reported in Loikaw, Kayah State on 17 Nov, and now extending to several cities across the country.

Today, the military council in Nyaung Oo Town, Mandalay region has followed the same suit issuing the same decree and police are checking passengers this morning in Meiktila Town, Mandalay region.

The decree prohibits even the female motorbike drive from carrying the male passenger behind, blaming People Defense Forces as terrorists for attacking the junta’s security forces using car and motorbike as the attacker allegedly sits behind the driver.
